Some guests come here to unwind under the canopy of the Big Trees. Some come for special events, holidays or to entertain friends. Others comes for the adventure, wine tasting, fishing, hiking, camping, or snow sports up in Big Bear. We've even had our share of sierra mountain rock climbing 4WD clubs pass through with their Jeep Wrangers up on 37" tires. No matter how you define a 'perfect vacation cabin', Arnold, and Camp Connell have something perfect.

it the Lakes, Rivers and Beaches. We recommend White Pines and Lake Alpine, or the Stanislaus River. Great for swimming, kayaking, or fishing.
The cabin has access to the Big Trees Recreation Center, with 2 pools, tennis basketball, bocce and more, including Saturday night socials·
Visit the great wineries, breweries, distilleries and cider houses we have here in Calaveras·
Listen to some great live music. During the summer you’ll find local bands abound. ·
Hop on your ATV or Dirt Bike and visit some great off-road trails·
Hike the (fantastic) Arnold Rim Trail, especially for one of their famous “full moon hikes”·
See first-hand what the goldrush days were like in Columbia, a ‘period-maintained’ town.·
There is some great fishing and hunting for the outdoorsy folks in your group·
Visit Murphy’s, Twain Harte, Sonora or any of the other wonderful foothill towns nearby.·
Visit the Big Trees State Park, and hike the ‘North Grove’·
Take in a little ‘Shakespeare in the Vines’ at Brice Station vineyards. ·
Drag the ‘big jenga’ set out onto the back deck.·
If there is snow on the ground, you’ll want to head up to Bear Valley for skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and sledding. ·
White Water Rafting down the Stanislaus River is a great way to spend the afternoon. ·
Visit one of the County Fairs (Calaveras, Tuolumne) – especially if you can catch one of the world famous Frog Jumping Events.
